Cool Things Episode #1: Strumstick with Delay Part 1

D-33 Strumstick with Strymon Timeline delay pedal

Cool Things #2 How to play Arpeggios (chords note by note) on the Strumstick, and enhance them with delay effects. Good material whether you have a delay pedal or not. Covers basic arpeggios, adding notes, adding melody, and using delay to create a lush background.

Cool Things #3 Using a Delay Set for Multiple Repeats to make a rhythm background to your strumstick playing. How to avoid "Delay Mush", and use the delay to enhance the musical quality and rhythmic energy of what you are playing.

Cool Things #4 A Look at Fingerpicking the Strumstick with and without a Delay effect. Gives a good look at a number of fingerpicking techniques, even if you don't have a delay effect. At the right delay settings, fingerpicking creates a shimmering rhythmic background that sounds like multiple instruments playing different parts together. Melodies and strummed chords can be played against this background, all on one instrument, all in real time. This is Part 4 in the Strumstick with Delay group, and part of the Cool Things (to do) with Strumstick series. Some really cool music and sounds happening too, if you just want to listen.
