We added and took away a couple notes from our classic Strumstick design, to get just the notes you need for basic Blues (based on a Pentatonic Minor scale, fyi).
It's exactly the notes you need for one of the most widely used Blues scales, found in Rock, Country, Jazz, Bluegrass as well as the Blues.
It's tuned EBE, DAD, or CGC for playing in keys of E, D or C.
Play any sequence of notes on it, and you can't help sounding like the Blues.
The videos here and on the product page show some of what you can do with it, and they are just scratching the surface.
Our first batch will be ready by mid-late December. Every Blues Strumstick includes our great Built-in Pickup*. The Blues Strumstick sounds fine unplugged, and when you send it to an amp, dial in a little bass and a little grit, oh my! Blues Heaven!
More Details: The BL-31 is a shorter scale length than the D-33, and we are using lighter strings too, so bending the strings for a true Blues effect is really easy. We are setting the action up nice and low, so you can over-play the strings and get some funky acoustic grit accenting if you want to. Padouk neck and body, Spruce top and Maple back.
